DAHLET QORROT BAY - GOZO

Dahlet Qorrot is a small inlet nestled in the northern cliff face of Gozo. It can be reached from Qala or Nadur, but the road from Nadur is perhaps the easiest way to get there. The road leading to Dahlet Qorrot is narrow and windy but it's worth the drive.

The cove is used by a small number of fisherman who have turned some caves into boat houses and storage areas for fishing gear. It's worth the visit to observe the local fisherman mending their fishing nets and traps and working on keeping their colourful boats seaworthy. The way these fishermen work hasn't changed much in hundreds of years. The local villagers are very friendly and will take the time to talk about their boats and their way of life. It's a great experience.

The water in the cove is deep and as clear as crystal. Not too many people visit the cove since there isn't a beach and there are no amenities. However a quick dip in the clear deep blue water of the cove makes the whole trip worth while.

Steps have been hewn out of the rocks on the east side of the cove. These lead to the rugged coastline tn the east of the cove. It's worth the short but pleasant walk. However make sure you're wearing good shoes since the area is very rocky and the rocks are quite sharp.
