PARADISE BAY
The beach itself is quite small buy the sand is golden and the water as clear as crystal. Lots of cane, fig trees, and caper bushes grow amidst the huge chunks of rocks that have fallen away from the cliff face over the years. The beach is quite protected from the elements except for the mouth of the bay. A hotel is located at the north end of the beach but the hotel can only be reached from the Cirkewwa side. There is a small restaurant located close to the beach. You can rent a beach umbrella and a beach chair from there if you don't want to go through the trouble of carrying your own up and down the stairs! The restaurant offers cold drinks, ice cream and light meals. This is usually a pretty quite beach although it can get a bit crowded at times. The long flight of stairs discourage many people, especially those with small children. One word of caution. During the hot summer months when the sun is beating down on the islands, make sure you wear something on your feet if you don't want the soles of your feet to burn! The stairs are made of concrete and when the sun is up you can fry an egg on them! This beach is a must see, even if all you're interested in is taking some great pictures.
