Pastizzi - an extremely popular snack consisting of a uniquely shaped flaky pastry filled with ricotta cheese or a mixture of peas and beef.

In Toronto you can buy ready-made Pastizzi at three restaurants on Dundas Street West in the Malta Village. You can also buy frozen Pastizzi (you have to bake these yourself) at all three Maltese restaurants as well as Highland Farms, the Basket Bakery in Brampton and the Buskett bakeries in Toronto and Scarborough. Please refer to the Toronto Maltese Community Page for telephone numbers.
