MALTA VILLAGE
This stretch of Dundas Street is quite old. There are quite a few Maltese businesses in this area as well as St. Paul the Apostle Parish Church and a small park named "Malta Park". Some of the Maltese businesses located in the Malta Village include the Malta Bake Shop, Melita Travel Service, Buskett Bakery, and Mid-Med Bank. In November of 1997 the residents in the Junction and Malta Village voted in favour of rescinding the liquor-free by-law that had been in place for 96 years. As a result restaurants in the area, including the Malta Bake Shop, can apply for a liquor licence. Those Pastizzi will go down smooth with a cold bear in the summer months! The MCST (Maltese Canadian Society of Toronto) is also located in the Malta Village.
